A semester in The District

This blog is all about my time in Washington DC. I’m currently a Senior in College, attending school in Southern California. This fall semester, I’ve decided to study in Washington D.C. My time will include taking 2 classes (Political Communication and Photojournalism), as well as interning with NBC. On this blog I’ll share stories of what I’m doing, share pictures of what I’m doing, as well as pictures I’ll be taking for my Photo J class, as well as reblogging what others have to share about our nations capital. Maybe I’ll throw in some political opinions every once in a while ;). Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

Vietnam Memorial. I had family that fought in the Vietnam War, and I’m lucky enough to not have a name that I know on this list. It’s such a simple yet moving memorial.

The Californians at the WWII Memorial! It was our first field trip last Monday, we toured the city, and of course, since it was there, we had to get our picture in front of California! I can tell, this is going to be an amazing semester :)

More pictures of the 9/11 Pentagon Memorial, taken on the night of September 11, 2010. Nine years later yet it seems like it was just yesterday. It was so hard seeing people there that knew people who died in the crash. You could easily tell how much it changed their lives based on the tears falling from their faces. We will never forget what happened on September 11th, and those lives lost still mean more than words can describe to this country. We will never forget
